Stopping Time
Einstein demonstrated that time is relative.
But the rabbit-hole goes much deeper. Quantum physics discovered that consciousness is entangled in matter in some inexplicable ways; but other than the very fast, or very small, or very large, we tend to assume our “ordinary” reality conforms more to the laws of Newton. Simple cause and effect unfolding with clockwork constancy —well, it’s time to shatter this assumption. Let’s stop time.

It works… it really does! My take on it is what hey explain as your brain processing information at high speeds, making seconds seem longer. The more thought-processes you can go through in one second the longer you can stop the second-hand from moving. I would discard this being an optical illusion, because the things my brain is thinking when trying to stop it reflects on how long I can stop the second-hand from moving.
Don’t look directly at the clock, read the article while paying secondary attention to the clock. And you’ll see that as you read, the second-hand seems to stop, I noticed it seemed to go slower, then stop, and if I shifted my attention back to it, the second hand would jump forwar, but notsudenly, more like it resumes it’s pace quickly.
