Curiosities and more

Really, it takes quite a lot of discipline to make the time to post, specially when you’ve decided to post a lot about fun things you find around the internet. And making your posts not use verbatim pieces of info from the places you gained the news as well.

But anyways, today I have two interesting news pieces. The first comes from Wired, and referrs to the Million Dollar Homepage, who was attacked by hackers who held the page ‘hostage’ demanding first 5k and then 50k dollars as ransom. Alex Tew, webmaster of the project showed all of us that there are ways to fight such hackers by using your fame. He contacted a Web Security company offering them publicity in his blog, if they rescued his site and kept it safe from hackers. It worked, and his website is now back online. Read more about this here.

My second news is for all of you that *don’t* enjoy watching football games between countries, and all that nonsense behind the FIFA World Cup…. I present to you the Ant World Cup! 11 ants, two teams, and a 1 inch ball make up this fascinating game, of rivalry between ants. I must sadly report that according to the article, neither team managed to score.
